Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Retirement Sales team as a Senior Data Reporting Analyst!

About the role

The Sr. Reporting Data Analyst will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results and provide ongoing management level reports. Understanding of requirements and documentation for high level reports. Expert level analysis skills are required along with a deep understanding of enterprise processes and systems. Scope of work for the Sr. Reporting Data Analyst has limited direction by their supervisor, and my require helping lower level analysts on overall systems or processes. Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops, implements and maintains business solutions. Works with main clients and project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements. Provides mentorship to junior analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret large data sets, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to Retirement Sales leadership.
  • Create presentations and present to executive level leaders.
  • Advanced development and implementation of data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Obtain data from internal data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Use innovative ideas to create queries to pull data in more efficient ways.
  • Actively identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Review business requirements and perform user acceptance tests during the new deployment of new system, data metrics and structure.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.

Compensation

$66,600 - $110,900/annually plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Your experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of expert-level analysis techniques and strong understanding of enterprise systems
  • Experience in sales-related data analysis
  • Financial services industry experience preferred
  • Ability to capture and document advanced business and reporting requirements from multiple sources
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage simultaneous data analysis requests of varying size and scope
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, Excel, VBA, our CRM, Tableau, and relational databases
