About the job

This position is needed to drive Product Analytics for the Twilio Data & Growth platform plays a key part in building increased understanding of our products, our customers, and our business so that we can help our teammates make better data-driven decisions. 

We work cross-functionally and across business units to develop and share insights, combining qualitative understanding and quantitative analysis. As a member of the team, you’ll have an opportunity to work with high-caliber individuals to drive strategic and operational improvements at our company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, manage, develop, and build a team of world-class Product Analysts / data scientists for the Data & Growth R&D teams, including Twilio Segment and Twilio Engage.
  • Enable your team with repeatable frameworks for different types of analyses and reporting
  • Create a collaboration model that fosters strong relationships between Product and Analytics to tackle strategic and tactical problems
  • Align on prioritization based on impact and required investment, including engaging in annual & quarterly product planning

Your team will:

  • Formulate insights based on both in-depth analysis of data and qualitative understanding of our products, customers, and business
  • Be a trusted advisor to the Product, Engineering, Design & Research organizations, including product investment and design decisions, as well as opportunities for improvement in operational processes
  • Use your collected knowledge and the power of data to inform company-level strategic decisions
  • Effectively communicate insights and analyses to a wide variety of stakeholders, including Finance and GTM teams
  • Help stakeholders develop key performance metrics and help them achieve these targets

Some recent team projects include:

  • Developing machine learning models to help cross functional teams identify accounts at risk of churn at scale
  • Partnering with colleagues in Engineering to identify and implement AWS cost savings opportunities totaling tens of millions annually (see blog post)
  • Developing tools to help customers spot issues with their data collection at scale

Required:

  • Have 3+ years of people management experience and are excited to build, develop, and lead a high-performing team
  • Can synthesize and communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences, especially senior product leaders and executives
  • Can develop strong trust and rapport with those leaders and executives to align on initiatives and priorities
  • Have a deep sense of curiosity, are highly analytical, and have strong business acumen
  • Drive insight through data
  • Are excited about rolling up your sleeves and getting stuff done in an unstructured environment of a hyper-growth technology startup
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative or technical field
  • Have 8+ years of work experience with data and analytics, including experience at technology startups

Location 

This role will be remote and based in the United States.

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $146,240 - $182,800.
  • Sales Commission: Additionally, this role is eligible to earn commissions and eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
  • Non-Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
