We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Analyst to support our growing Engineering group by providing insights, analytics and KPIs that help drive the business. Additionally, the person in this role will work with the Engineering Leadership team to produce and manage operating and headcount models that help support our growth. The mission of the role is to provide insight, refine measures and metrics and drive engineering operating and headcount plans to optimize our growth strategy and support our teams. This position is highly visible in Engineering/Support and the Analytics team and can greatly impact how we do business and measure ourselves for success.

This is a full-time position is Remote (US)

 

Technologies You’ll Use

  • We use a modern data stack of Fivetran, dbt, BigQuery, Looker, Sigma and Google Sheets for analytics
  • Experience in Workday, Namely, Greenhouse, Charthop and Pave a plus

What You’ll Do:

  • Proactively engage in the definition and measurement of engineering and support KPIs needed to run day to day business and drive the company to success
  • Work with engineering and support stakeholders to perform problem discovery and ad-hoc analysis to drive insights
  • Develop analytical models to ensure data-driven decision making
  • Conduct internal and external research on best practices
  • Engage with and be key contact for the Fivetran Analytics team that builds and maintains dashboards for engineering and support that help run the business
  • Co-own and drive the quarterly and sprint planning and prioritization process with the Fivetran Analytics team
  • Work with the VP of Engineering, Strategy and Operations and stakeholders to produce budgets, headcount models and management and operating costs for the engineering and support organization
  • Prepare for and support quarterly business reviews, monthly financial reviews, and monthly operating reviews
  • Provide proactive assessment of data to pinpoint opportunities for improvement in all areas

 

Skills We’re Looking For:

  • You have a passion for data and analytics
  • You love to solve problems
  • You are experienced in software development methodologies and support methodologies and how they are used within a cloud based technology company
  • You are proactive, methodical and structured in your thinking but you are not thrown off balance if other priorities suddenly overrule what you had planned for the day
  • You love solving problems and you have advanced logical and analytical abilities to derive insights from data and suggest solutions 
  • You are skilled in building headcount models, reconciling with current budget and managing operating costs for an engineering organization
  • You are resourceful, self-motivated, and able to successfully complete multiple competing projects under tight deadlines
  • You should know SQL and SQL-based data warehouses such as BigQuery and BI solutions such as Looker/Sigma. 
  • You are a Google Sheets wizard and bring strong analytical skills (ability to build models in Google Sheet)
  • Your verbal and written communications skills are EXCELLENT and you have the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • You are a team player and understand the importance of working with cross functional teams that may have competing priorities
  • You understand the bigger picture and are able to connect the dots to make our KPIs and Metrics work for us to improve our efficacy
  • You love the ‘details’ and it shows in your approach to analysis, projects and problem solving
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with a diverse team
