State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$115,576 to $219,506 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$105,069 to $199,551 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$94,562 to $179,596 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, SE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

ABOUT THE JOB 

As a Technical Product Analytics Lead at Mercury Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights to drive technical product excellence and business growth. Leveraging your expertise in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools, you will collaborate closely with product teams to develop measurement tools, create comprehensive dashboards, and uncover key metrics that influence technical product performance. Your deep understanding of technical product analytics, coupled with your ability to work with large datasets, will enable you to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and provide strategic recommendations. You will be a key advocate for data-driven decision-making, working with senior management to enhance our analytical capabilities and guide the strategic direction of our products.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Technical Product Mastery: Develop a strong understanding of our technical products, including the primary use cases of our policyholders and agents. Use this expertise to contribute to product improvements and user satisfaction.

Measurement Strategy & Implementation: Collaborate with technical product and engineering teams to design and document effective measurement strategies. Ensure product behavior and performance data is collected, structured, and made accessible for analysis.

Dashboard Creation & Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reporting tools to monitor technical product performance and key metrics. Ensure these tools are user-friendly and provide actionable insights.

Continuous Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor key metrics consistently, investigate any anomalies, and provide well-founded insights and recommendations based on your findings.

Feature Measurement Integration: Work with technical product and engineering teams to incorporate measurement into new feature releases. Prepare, review, and QA reports before and after product launches to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Experiment Design & Analysis: Set product learning goals and design data-driven experiments, including A/B and multivariate tests. Translate results into clear, actionable recommendations for product and business decisions.

Promote Data-Driven Decision Making: Advocate for and integrate data-driven decision-making practices across the company. Use data and analytics to support strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

· Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in product analytics, data analysis, or a related discipline.

Experience

5 or more years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, data engineering, and/or data science.

3 or more years of experience in product analytics, focusing on user behavior, engagement metrics, and product performance analysis.

Experience in P&C insurance is preferred, but not required.

Proven track record of collaborating with product teams to establish measurement tools and processes.

Strong background in developing dashboards, reporting tools, and conducting in-depth data analysis to drive business decisions.

Skills & Abilities 

Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, building data pipelines, and automation of workflows.

Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI & Hex) to design and maintain dynamic dashboards that drive actionable insights.

Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2) and Unix/Shell scripting for managing cloud infrastructure and automating data processes.

Expertise in relational and non-relational databases with a deep understanding of diverse data sources and how to effectively query and manage them.

Comprehensive knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools (e.g., dbt & Informatica), including the ability to design and optimize complex data workflows.

Advanced data manipulation skills, capable of working with large structured and unstructured data sets to uncover insights and trends.

Ability to identify and resolve data inconsistencies through thorough analysis, providing actionable recommendations to improve data quality.

Conceptual, analytical, and creative thinking, with the ability to navigate and thrive in ambiguous situations.

Experience in managing and communicating data strategies and models to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Strong understanding of product analytics methodologies, best practices, and tools to support data-driven decision-making.

Demonstrated expertise in data mining and statistical analysis, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data sets.

Solid experience with cloud-based advanced data and analytics environments, ensuring scalability and performance.

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex data concepts to diverse audiences.

Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams, driving alignment and execution.
