In this role, you’ll work closely with a broad set of cross-functional teams, such as product, engineering, marketing, sales, risk, customer service and business development, to deeply understand the levers of our business and identify key areas of opportunities. This role is critical in helping our product teams and business units better estimate and understand the impact of their work, create model-based solutions and make data-driven trade-offs, to help us unlock the next phases of growth. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and partner closely with all of our Extended Leadership team, including our CEO.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal and external strategies and development of GenAI across Product, Sales, Marketing, Trust & Safety, Customer Service.

  • Responsible for an internal group of Economists to develop marketplace products, pricing and tools.

  • Manage market and competitive research and analysis to inform strategic decisions.

  • Set the long-term data, economics, and analytics strategies in coordination with key business, product, technology and marketing leaders to develop a deep understanding of business and customer needs, as well as uncover potential opportunities.

  • Work with the business units and in partnership with the VP, Data Engineering to streamline system architecture, data stacks and internal framework to support a newly-centralized analytics function.

  • Improve performance metrics reporting to create real-time gaps to goal visibility across all areas of the business.

  • Build and maintain a center of excellence for experimental test design to drive high quality, high velocity tests across business units and ensure a "closed loop" when it comes to learnings and insights with our product teams.

  • Create and maintain the economics and analytics roadmap(s) in support of the product strategy(s), business objectives, and achieving the company’s vision.

  • Evangelize the use of data-informed decision making through the organization and create data-driven standards for leveraging data science and analytics to offer both internal and external actionable insights.

  • Partner with leadership and team members within the organization to identify and execute on economics and analytics needs and gaps and create self-service dashboards and visualization tools.

  • Proactively stay up to date and informed in business priorities, market conditions, key considerations and technology/automation to pivot analytics strategies as needed.

  • Develop strong, collaborative and trusting cross-functional relationships across the organization and senior leadership team.

  • Manage vendor relationships, partners and resources as needed.

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • Experience delivering insight to internal or external clients by building the people, technology and process that enables deep understanding of our customer needs and product impact. 

  • Great builder of diverse analytics, data science and machine learning teams and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with key stakeholders that can help smooth execution, identify new opportunities.

  • Strong analytical and technical acumen.

  • Experience in experimental test design (A/B split, full factorial, fractional factorial).

  • Track record of developing strong partnerships with both internal customers and external partners.

  • Self-motivated, with a “roll up your sleeves” work style, but also a leader teacher, who engages internally and externally to share best practices.

  • In-depth knowledge of quantitative analysis but has the ability to communicate effectively (and in plain English!) across the organization to ensure that the team is complete. aligned to the business objectives and can do the job effectively.

  • Strong communicator and ability to influence at the highest level.

California and Washington ranges from $236,000- $378,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
