About the Role

At Hex, we care deeply about empowering organizations with a collaborative data workspace that serves the entire company.

As an Analytics Engineer joining our growing analytics team, you’ll be responsible for improving our internal data infrastructure, enabling Hexans to make data-driven decisions, and influencing our product roadmap by providing feedback on your experience using Hex.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Improve and maintain the infrastructure in our Modern Data Stack™
  • Work with stakeholders to define, iterate, and measure core business metrics
  • Build and improve on dbt models so that data in our warehouse is easy to use to gain insights and answer questions about our business
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to keep our data stack updated and our business well-measured as we rapidly scale
  • Maintain a high level of quality and reliability in our data stack
  • Communicate and train people how to best use Hex as a data workspace
  • Define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for data infrastructure at scale

About you

You care about data, and have a passion for enabling yourself and others to ask and answer questions with it.

You may have:

  • Prior experience as an Analytics Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Passion for helping stakeholders get a win, and a willingness to embrace an iterative approach built off of an MVP
  • A desire to continually keep up with advancements in data (engineering, analytics, science) team practices
  • A track record of execution working both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Direct experience with dbt, or equivalent data modeling tools
  • Exposure and expertise with the Modern Data Stack™, including ELT, cloud data warehouse, BI / reporting, and reverse ETL tools
  • Experience with SQL, Git, Python, and various cloud data infrastructure technologies.
