We’re opening up our second round of our 6-month Apprenticeship Program here at dbt Labs! This program is designed to be gateway for those that are new to the field or looking to make a career change and is specifically developed for those without a traditional technical/analytics background who are excited to getting involved and make meaningful contributions in the data space. Starting in August of 2022, this program will provide apprentices with relevant training, exposure to different areas and teams at dbt Labs, and hands-on working experience to launch their career in the field. 

Our program is designed to prepare the apprentice to start their career in Analytics Engineering! Upon program completion, we will support you on the next step of your journey. That may mean extending a full-time offer to join the dbt Labs team or leveraging our network to make introductions and assist you in finding your next role.

We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer Apprentice to join our Professional Services team. Our team helps startups set up their initial analytics infrastructure and Fortune 1000 companies migrate to modern analytics tools. You’ll be able to work with one of the most talented data teams in the country and with some of the most exciting companies in the world. With this opportunity, you'll develop working knowledge of essential data analysis skills and have practice using tools such as SQL, dbt, and other tools within the modern data stack.

In this role…

• The first 1-3 months will be spent learning and building out foundational knowledge of SQL, dbt, and other tools within the data tech stack
• Months 4-6 will be spent completing your own projects, writing code, and working with our Professional Services clients. This time will be spent practicing your craft!
• You will have mentorship opportunities with Analytics Engineers on our Professional Services team and exposure solving to real world problems in the data space

You are a good fit if you…

• Are passionate about the space and have an interest in growing into a data or Analytics Engineering role
• Are looking to make a career change into data or recently completed a boot camp
• Have basic knowledge of SQL and are looking to build on that knowledge
• Are looking for the opportunity to be a part of the dbt Labs team!

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $20,000 over the course of 6 months. If your apprenticeship results in an offer to join our team as an Associate Analytics Engineer, the salary offered would be starting at $90,000/year.
• You will be eligible to participate in our benefit program

Here’s what to expect during the interview process:
• A conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team to talk about why you’re interested in the program and ensure you have the required knowledge to be successful
• A technical interview with 2 of our Analytics Engineers
• A final conversation with an Analytics Engineering Manager


Offers will be extended the week of July 18th and the program starts on August 1, 2022 running through to January 27th, 2023.
