Bungie is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to join our newly formed Machine Learning team.  In this role, you will embed within and directly support Bungie’s Product Security group, working closely with analysts and engineers to reduce the impact of bad actors in Bungie games.

At Bungie, we build worlds that inspire friendships, and the Product Security team exists to keep those worlds and our players safe.  Protecting players in a rapidly changing threat landscape requires machine learning automation, data driven discovery, and careful analysis of a dynamic online global ecosystem.  To this end, you will leverage your experience in data analysis, data science, and engineering to build security services that protect Bungie players and track emerging threats.  Most importantly, your work will be essential to developing unmatched entertainment experiences that inspire friendships and lifelong memories.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • A recent graduate from a U.S. college, university, or related program within 12 months from October 2022
  • Planning to graduate in Fall 2022 through Spring 2023
    OR
  • Moving from primarily learning to primarily working within 12 months
  • Transitioning from one craft, function, or discipline to a new one within 12 months

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a small team (3-5 people) to maintain aspects of game security in a live environment
  • Deploy machine learning services end-to-end in a cloud environment
  • Respond to a dynamic security landscape by rapidly building deep learning models
  • Communicate the results of your analyses to both technical and non-technical colleagues

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, and Tensorflow
  • Effective at data visualization and storytelling geared towards both technical and non-technical audiences

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Experience working within cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience with computer vision, time-series modeling, or anomaly detection
  • Experience with unsupervised learning, self-supervised learning, or training large language models
  • A love of playing video games

Listed below is this role's base pay range within the greater Seattle area, In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bungie employees also receive:

  • Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) and/or Sabbatical (SAB) based on position level  
    • L13-L15: 20 PTO days
    • L16-L17: 15 PTO days / 5 SAB days
    • L18+: 10 PTO days / 10 SAB days
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays each year
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Washington State Pay Range

$102,000—$128,000 USD
