Why this job is important:

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a key member of the organization supporting the development, design and execution of Tableau reporting and analytical solutions supporting business users and processes. This individual will help ensure the organization leverages Business Intelligence tools, analytic tools, and best practices to its fullest capabilities. The successful candidate, working closely with business stakeholders, will demonstrate an ability to bridge the gap between operational processes, technology, data, and analytics by supporting a long-term Business Intelligence strategy and roadmap and managing an increasing demand for robust reporting and advanced analytics.

A typical day might include:

  • Design and develop reports and dashboards using the company's designated Business Intelligence (BI) tool

  • Champion a data-driven culture across the enterprise developing methods and controls to ensure consistent application and use of data

  • Interface directly with internal clients and project team members to understand the needs and objectives of the business

  • Collaborate closely with business users to validate and refine report requirements

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data

  • Create data models and define relationships between different data sources to ensure data accuracy and integrity

  • Develop visually appealing and interactive reports, charts, and data visualizations

  • Consistently deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions and services to clients on schedule

  • Bring structure to ambiguous business problems and recommend visualization solutions that can be easily interpreted by users

This role may be a fit for you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or related discipline

  • 3+ years of experience as a BI Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst, or Report Developer in a dynamic business environment, with demonstrated reporting, analytical, and database experience

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ELT processes

  • Experience and proficiency with Qlik Sense, Looker, PowerBI, Tableau or other visualization product

  • Experience and proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries; proven ability and understanding of data architecture, relational database design principles, and data visualization concepts

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Experience in creating visually compelling reports and data visualizations

  • Outstanding ability to clearly communicate data, context, and implications to business and technology stakeholders, relating analytical findings into business context. 

  • Ability to think creatively, to deal with ambiguity, to manage changing priorities, and to drive initiatives to completion in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively gather requirements and present insights to stakeholders

  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and statistical concepts is a plus

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience in Customer Success and Support analytics, dashboards, and Tableau visualizations

  • Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Big Query or Azure Synapse

  • Experience creating visualizations at the industry, department and individual user level

  • Experience in the Software, Staffing or CRM industry
