About the right team member

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to support our team’s mission of creating and maintaining a world-class data environment and helping the company make the best possible business decisions. Our Business Intelligence team sits at the center of everything data-related at ClassPass, and works with nearly every other function to articulate their most critical metrics, build out capabilities to track those metrics, and generate value-additive insights that move our business forward. In this role you’ll build complex data models, produce impactful reports, dashboards, and visualizations, maintain ETL pipelines, and consult with stakeholders on generating solutions to business and operational challenges. This opportunity is an excellent fit for a candidate seeking a data-centric role that provides broad operational and strategic exposure to a rapidly scaling, growth stage business. The role is predominantly focused on the ClassPass business, though sits on our Business Intelligence team whose responsibilities span both Mindbody and ClassPass. We are open to candidates located anywhere in the US, but with a preference for candidates located in or near our offices in New York, NY, Missoula, MT, or San Luis Obispo, CA.

About the role

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align on logic for most critical business metrics; design, create, and operationalize that logic into “source of truth” data models in Enterprise Data Warehouse using SQL, and surface those metrics in our self-service BI tools (Looker, tableau) 
  • Develop mastery of BI tools and utilize them to create and manage reports, dashboards, and data marts that surface business insights and help stakeholders understand performance against KPIs 
  • Partner with business stakeholders on ad hoc analyses and other ways to use data to answer key strategic and operational questions and challenges 
  • Write SQL queries used to audit, automate, and report on data across production, business, and 3rd party systems; collaborate with stakeholders to improve the efficiency of business operations and systems utilizing data expertise 
  • Manage a roadmap of current and future analytical work and consult with leaders to ensure roadmap is aligned to most important strategic priorities 

Skills & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, quantitative field preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or similar role that involves data modeling and/or SQL-based data transformation and analytics
  • Strong proficiency in SQL as well as experience with any BI Tool (Looker, Tableau, Power BI); Excel proficiency preferred
  • Experience developing data models and databases at a nascent or rapidly scaling business; proven ability to transform messy or unstructured data into robust, well-organized data models
  • Great-to-have additional skills include knowledge of ETL, Snowflake, Github, dbt, product analytics tools (Amplitude, Pendo)
  • Must have an interest in business-side implications of work; need to “keep up” with what’s going on with the business, feel comfortable collaborating with business stakeholders at all levels of seniority to understand their data needs
  • Ability to present data in a simple, clean, concise visual and written manner
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and highly organized
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines  
  • Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate and learn new technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment

The goal of Mindbody’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The base salary range for this position in the United States is $92,600 to $87,200. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
