The Data Analyst will be assisting the assigned groups at Zayo by providing various analyses  using statistical techniques, implementing and maintaining databases, gathering data from primary and secondary sources, identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends from the data. The Data Analyst may also be called upon to assist with integrations, reporting and ad-hoc requests as they relate to various business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple areas to manage Big Data case queue within prescribed turn-around and service level agreements.

  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects.

  • Provide educated judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations.

  • Create reports, dashboards, data visualization (infographics), workflows, and charts to provide insights for internal teams.

  • Ensure site information, vendor information and frequently used databases are  accurate and updated timely.

  • Use SQL or Microsoft Access to create complex datasets across multiple tables.

  • Assist with integrations and ad-hoc requests related to business operations.

  • Support decision-making and strategic planning activities, serving as a key resource to senior decision-makers in the business.

  • Create systematics processes for comparing data from vendor invoices, activity-management systems (e.g. zLocates, Irth, et al), and other relevant sources to audit and validate all related outputs.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or proficient knowledge in Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science or other Quantitative Field.

  • At least 3 years in a related role. (Masters degree in a related field could substitute this requirement).

  • Intermediate to advanced level of SQL and other programming languages.

  • Strong understanding of using SQL or Microsoft Access to pull and manipulate data from our data warehouse

  • Ability to accurately join multiple relational data sets with many-to-one and one-to-one relationships

  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.

  • Ability to create reports and dashboards within Salesforce.com

  • Capable and willing to independently and accurately solve logic-based problems

  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to understand and create charts, graphs, and data visualization models.

  • Experience with Salesforce preferred.

  • Capacity to work on multiple projects and meet various deadlines.

  • Aptitude for learning new/different processes within the company to better understand other data architectures and workflows

  • Strong desire for teamwork and working in group settings

  • Attention to detail and a basic understanding of aesthetics is essential

  • A general understanding of telecom is preferred

Base pay range: $75,500- $100,600, commensurate with experience
