Position Description

The Product Analyst, Pricing is a strategic, data-driven role responsible for executing successful pricing strategy for specific products and product bundles. The role will report to the Sr. Manager/Director, Product Pricing, and align closely with the Product Management groups dedicated to the product(s), as well as the Pricing Intelligence team. The Product Analyst, Pricing will formulate pricing strategies from specific goals and financial targets, and manage data in SFDC to enable positive pricing outcomes. 

The right candidate will possess strong financial, analytical and decision-making skills. The role requires someone who is passionate about pricing, technology, data-integrity, and a knack for cross-team collaboration. Experience with Salesforce.com, a process improvement mindset, great organizational skills, and effective communication are essential to success in this role. 

The Product Analyst, Pricing serves as an expert for the product(s) in their scope, serving as a resource for the broader business for pricing-related requests. The role is also responsible for understanding pricing and costing differences across markets, accounting for regional differences, competitors, pricing trends and changes in opportunity. Combined with intel provided by the Pricing Intelligence team, the Product Analyst, Pricing will guide micro and macro changes to base pricing strategy. 

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Work with other areas of the business to drive enhanced data, financial and pricing reporting 

  • Consumes data & insights to identify market and business trends to increase profits and efficiency

  • Manages data in SFDC that is consumed by the CPQ Pricing Engine to generate pricing & costing 

  • Sets base rates for products/bundles & continuously reevaluates these rates against market & competitor data

  • Works with Pricing Intelligence team to continuously evaluate and update market rates as well as propose AI/Automation-based solutions

  • Works with Product Management to assign financial thresholds/guardrails by product/customer 

  • Works with Wholesale, Retail, Channel team to manage disputes and DOA approvals in ~20% of non-Tranzact deals

  • Runs cross functional scrums between Product Management and Pricing Strategy 

  • Experts in SFDC Data structure for all pricing/costing levers

  • Serves as an expert in standard costing assumptions across different markets and products 

  • Leverages Financial Metrics to formulate & justify pricing strategy (NPV, IRR, MOIC, Payback, Margin, etc)

 

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of data analysis/pricing/finance experience; Telecom experience preferred

  • Moderate to Advanced knowledge of Telecom products and customer use cases

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Operations Management, or similar field; MBA a plus

  • Successful experience coordinating and/or managing projects across cross-functional teams

  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel and G-Suite applications

  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com and/or telecommunications data systems 

  • Experience working with Salesforce CPQ a plus

  • Proficient in the calculations behind pricing-related financial metrics (i.e. IRR, NPV, Payback Period, Profit Margin, MOIC, etc)

  • Self-starter who is able to tackle work in an unstructured environment, comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, as well as manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively

  • A team player who can collaborate while also remain productive independently

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively 

  • Strong ability to present product pricing strategy to management teams

  • Leads with a “coaching” mindset - a passion for teaching, challenging, learning and growing

  • Strong financial acumen and a passion for data

  • Must be highly organized and a strong communicator both written and verbal
