The Risk & Risk Operations team strives to optimize decisions at various stages of the customer journey through efficient processes to positively impact our growth, profitability & customer experience while controlling for losses. Most importantly, underwriting risk at the top of the funnel enables fast-growing consumer applications to get approved for the appropriate product at an affordable home-shopping budget.

As a key team member, the Data Analyst, Risk will analyze, build & manage the most important strategies & processes within our team. We’re seeking someone who cares about our mission, likes to analyze the data from different perspectives, builds strategies based on them, and focuses on execution & implementation by partnering with multiple teams. This person will report directly to our VP of Risk & Risk Operations.

Responsibilities

    • Continuously build, refine & monitor our risk strategy that allows us to scale our products across a broader customer base while controlling losses
    • Execute on risk projects from scoping till execution by partnering with multiple teams
    • Work with underwriting & product teams to optimize our underwriting processes to increase efficiency & mitigate risks
    • Partner with Divvy’s Data Science team to build an effective risk model infrastructure utilizing both traditional & non-traditional data & features
    • Document & maintain risk processes & policies through partnerships with  compliance & other teams
    • Build dashboards to monitor risk in our portfolio & efficiency in our underwriting processes

Skills & Experience

    • 2+ years of relevant experience building strategies & analyzing data for consumer risk & credit
    • Expertise in SQL skills & quant tools such as Python or understanding of statistical testing & machine learning methods
    • Ability to frame decisions from a risk vs. growth perspective through quantitative analysis and visualization
    • Ability to convey ideas through both  verbal & written communication, along with the ability  to explain complex ideas to both technical & non-technical audiences
    • Knowledge of consumer fraud & home asset risk is preferable 
    • Self-starter, willing to learn things quickly; comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
