Why Divvy?

At Divvy Homes, we're building an on-ramp to homeownership – one that's more flexible, more affordable, and an all-around better fit for today’s American family – and it’s working.

Data Engineering Opportunities
Divvy’s mission to empower home ownership means that we not only buy thousands of homes, but that each of those home purchases must be optimized to fit our current customers’ budgets, and to allow Divvy the resources to bring more customers into the dream of home ownership. Our engineering, analytic, and operations teams do amazing work to underwrite customers, generate competitive offers, thoroughly and thoughtfully inspect homes, and to support and service our customers in their new homes. And all of these teams rely on current, complete, diverse, and well-curated data to improve their efficiency and to gain a competitive advantage in Divvy’s targeted markets. Thus, quality and reliable data provide a key foundation for everything Divvy does.

About the role
Our business is built upon programmatically making intelligent data-based decisions in every area of our business. We rely heavily on structured data to build financial and risk models, to understand our markets, and to improve our customer services. This requires a strong and very flexible infrastructure that ingests, stores, and retrieves live real estate and related data. In this role, you will help to build our ingestion and ETL pipelines, data lakes, and other key data services to support our engineering and operational divisions. You will be leaned on to leverage your experience and expertise to be both a strong IC and a technical leader for the data engineering team. This role has the opportunity to grow into a leadership position.

At Divvy, you will be able to leverage your adaptability, creativity, and skill set to make homeownership more accessible and equitable. We are a small team that is still uncovering critical data sources and applications, so broad, flexible, and proactive thinking is key to our success. You’ll be expected to take ownership of your projects, to support your teammates on other projects, and work collectively to scale our platform to thousands of new applicants and multiple new markets. Almost every project will require cross functional collaboration across the entire home buying process. And you will have the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic team of engineers, product managers, data scientists, and field experts—all of whom are committed to Divvy’s mission, and thirsty for your help in providing that data and tooling to support their passion.
