Data Engineer

Astronomer is the commercial developer of Apache Airflow, a community-driven open-source tool that’s leading the market in data orchestration. We’re a globally-distributed and rapidly growing venture-backed team of learners, innovators and collaborators. Our mission is to build an Enterprise-grade product that makes it easy for data teams at Fortune 500’s and startups alike to adopt Apache Airflow. As a member of our team, you will be at the forefront of the industry as we strive to make Apache Airflow the de-facto standard in data orchestration.
As an Astronomer Data Engineer on our team, you will grow to have a deep understanding of both Apache Airflow and Astronomer as you work with organizations ranging from seed stage startups to Fortune 50 enterprises. You'll hone your expertise in Data Pipeline Engineering and be able to speak to, and deliver solutions, around Apache Airflow and the Astronomer platform. You'll interact with customers and partners to ensure their success. You'll be a trusted advisor and help solve data pipelining challenges across all types of environments and use cases. Last but not least, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the Apache Airflow project, a thriving open source community with 1000s of contributors.
A strong candidate has:
2+ years of industry experience as a Data Engineer building product data pipelines
Exposure to or experience with Apache Airflow
A strong verbal and written communicator
Eager to get in the weeds of a technical challenge
Experience writing Python
Excited about cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
