We are looking for a Data Engineer to support our software development organization. As the Data Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to develop highly scalable data pipelines and schema from both internal and external sources. You will be using cutting-edge data warehouse and engineering technologies to define and dissect data performance issues and provide analytical insights to answer questions effectively. You will report to the Manager of Data Engineering and will be providing insights to support Device42’s overall strategy and goals, as you will have a focus on building and maintaining our data pipelines and creating tools to support our team of developers and analysts.

What You Have:

    • Demonstrated ability in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
    • Familiarity with both cloud and on-prem data warehouses and ETL tools.
    • Understand the difference between batch, change data capture, and streaming, and when best to use each approach.
    • Know infrastructure as code, dataops, and how to deploy proper data architectures.
    • Fluency in SQL and a modern scripting language such as Python or R.
    • Experience with SQL for data analysis, database performance tuning, data mart architecting and implementation.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop highly scalable and extensible data pipelines from internal and external sources.
    • Build and maintain tools to increase the productivity of analysts, data scientists and developers.
    • Perform exploratory data analysis to determine which questions can be answered effectively with a given dataset.
    • Work with stakeholders to model data and provide it for downstream use in a BI system, as well as embedded analytics.
    • Develop and automate data quality checks.
