We are looking for a Data Engineer to support our software development organization.As a Data Engineer, you will actually see your efforts in the software that Device42 offers. You'll develop highly scalable data pipelines from both internal and external sources, help build and implement a test automation framework, use cutting-edge database and engineering technologies to define and dissect data performance issues, and provide analytical insights using dashboards and reports.
What You Have:
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability with ETL design and implementation.
- Fluency with SQL, BASH, and a modern scripting language such as Python or R.
- Experience with relational and time series databases.
- Familiarity with both cloud and on-prem data warehouses and ETL tools.
- Understand the difference between batch, change data capture, and streaming – and when best to use each.
- Experience with data analysis and visualizations.
- Experience with performance testing.
- Experience with database performance tuning. Knowledge of DataMart architecture and implementation.
- Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, or other Version Control System.
- Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure.
What You'll Do:
- Perform exploratory data analysis to determine which questions can be answered effectively with a given dataset.
- Work with stakeholders to model data and provide it for downstream use in embedded analytics.
- Conduct performance testing. Analyze test logs and create test reports.
- Take initiative to implement test automation efforts.
- Review requirement specifications and technical designs.
- Participate in database design efforts and code reviews.
- Develop and automate data quality checks.
- Create reports and dashboards.
- Optimize SQL and Python code for better performance.
