The Data Engineering team in Uplift is building up the next-generation data lake on Databricks to support all data use cases, varying from business intelligence to machine learning operations. We use industry-leading technologies like Spark, Delta lake, and ML flow. 

We are hiring Data Engineer Manager to review requirements with stakeholders, help prioritize projects, and do technical design reviews.

What you will do and achieve

    • As part of the Data Engineering service org, you and your team will own and manage cross functional data assets that support all business verticals
    • Manage and lead a group of data engineers with a wide spectrum of skill sets and backgrounds
    • Manage the project intake process for the Data Integration team, review and refine requirements, and prioritize projects and tasks across multiple business units
    • Design, build and maintain event drive and batch data pipelines in cloud infrastructure (AWS), data warehouse (Snowflake), and data lake (Databricks)
    • Improve internal processes with automation, alerting, and monitoring frameworks
    • Collaborate closely with product teams to build tools, frameworks, and reports for product feature monitor
    • Work with analysts and data scientists to extract actionable insights from data that shape the direction of the company
    • Actively engage in design and code reviews 
    • Lead initiatives to research, analyze, and propose new technologies and tools for our stack

Who you are

    • 2+ years of leadership experience
    • 7+ years of experience in data engineering 
    • BA/BS degree in Engineering, CS, or equivalent, Master's degree a plus
    • Strong SQL knowledge
    • Experience with Big Data, ETL, and data modeling
    • Solid coder with Python and Spark
    • Experience with cloud data warehouse (preferably Snowflake or AWS Redshift)
    • Familiar with BI tools (Tableau or Looker)
    • Familiar with Linux, AWS, and Docker
    • Experience in developing and operating high-volume, high-available and scalable environments
    • Ability to align with rapid business changes: new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and technological advancements
    • Entrepreneurial, persistent, with the desire to go deep into details
    • Comfortable working in a startup culture with the ability to earn trust
