The Crown Is Yours

As a Data Engineering Manager for our Sports Data Platform team, you’ll lead a group of engineers centered around the mission of compiling, transforming, and storing data for use across a variety of DraftKings products and features. You will play a pivotal role in providing a best-in-class experience for our products and customers. You will work closely with Product Managers, Project Management teams, and other Engineering Managers to help deliver innovative solutions. You’ll empower your team develop their skills, continuously improve processes, and deliver value to the business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A DATA ENGINEERING MANAGER (SPORTS DATA PLATFORM):

  • Manage and mentor a talented team of Data Engineers of all levels, aiding them in their own career growth.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and your squad to deliver high quality results with high velocity.

  • Contribute to hands-on implementation, release of changes, and technical design.

  • Facilitate technical discussions to help your squad overcome obstacles and uphold a high technical quality bar.

  • Craft the technical architecture and vision to be able to rapidly adapt and pivot as products are launched.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Excellent mentorship skills to motivate, develop and guide data engineers is a must, prior management experience is strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in aspects of business intelligence and data engineering, including data warehousing, delivery, and operations is required.

  • Experience working with real-time and data streaming architectures and technologies.

  • Strong background in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence with knowledge in a variety of data engines; Snowflake is preferred.

  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, Product Managers and other technical teams.

  • Ability to foster an atmosphere that encourages continuous improvement.

  • Experience with data tools such as Datadog, Alation, Tableau and/or other reporting tools is preferred.

  • Experience working with sports data or within the iGaming industry is preferred.

We’re a publicly traded (NASDAQ: DKNG) technology company headquartered in Boston. As a regulated gaming company, you may be required to obtain a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,400.00 - $225,600.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and how that was determined during the hiring process.
