Data and analytics are critical enablers that allow us to maximize the value we offer to our University Partners and their students.  To enhance the operating model of our Data Analytics team, we are seeking to onboard a high-performing Data Governance Analyst.  The ideal candidate will be an expert SQL practitioner with intermediate to advanced level skills in data governance, 3rd party data management and data visualization.  This role will significantly enhance our ability to provide functional leaders with timely, actionable reports and analyses that drive performance, growth and innovation.  There is opportunity for the right candidate to engage actively in downstream activities that help shape and deploy these assets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a complete understanding of our Student EDW architecture and data flows / ingestion processes from all source systems.
  • Become the Data Analytic team’s resident expert in querying our EDW to support all ad hoc data needs, Tableau extracts and predictive modeling data sets.   
  • Represent the business in collaboration with Business Technology on maintaining the data dictionary, data model, and all measure and dimension definitions.
  • Partner with Business Technology, Finance, Operations and Partner Data Managent to access and integrate key customer data into our EDW per the data management roadmap.
  • Work with Business Technology to build views on top of EDW tables.
  • Work with Business Technology to monitor all student data integrity and ensure the quality of all tables and fields in EDW, proactively analyzing them for accuracy and working with relevant functional areas to diagnose and address the cause of any issues.
  • Communicate all database changes in a timely manner to the Data Aalytics team.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or similar role
  • Deep knowledge of data architecture and database design
  • Expert level SQL and Excel skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of creating extracts for data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and progress multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders to identify and retrieve key data points from business systems (Eg: Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Experience in Higher Education desired but not required.
