At Academic Partnerships, we drive change through innovation in online education using the strengths, experience, and creativity of our people. As a leader in online education, we are focused on facilitating the goal of scalable online program success for our university partners and the students they serve—bringing the dream of earning a degree to becoming a bold reality. Our company is built on the foundation of our mission - to increase access to top-quality, affordable and workforce relevant education delivered online. Join a company that helps make dreams become a reality!

Reporting to the SVP of Data Analytics, the successful Director of Data Analytics will be an impact-oriented Analytics leader, and a key cross-functional collaborator and thought partner for AP’s senior executives and functional leaders. The Director of Data Analytics will build on AP’s existing foundations as the go-to resource for Data Visualization and Data Quality / Integrity and our emerging capability developing, deploying, and operationalizing Predictive Models in support of AP’s business objectives.

The role will help progress and accelerate our evolution from a team of Data Analytics practitioners who fulfil requests from cross-functional partners, to a Center of Excellence that pro-actively identifies high impact analytics use cases to develop and integrate into our operations (while continuing to fulfil the day-to-day needs and maintaining existing assets and tools). We have recently grown the Analyst pool, carving out areas of specialization within Data Governance, Data Visualization, and Data Science. The new Director of Data Analytics will partner with the SVP and one other Director to identify, prioritize, execute, and ensure impact of the Analytics project pipeline.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience scoping and leading projects from initial ideation to execution and impact assurance. They will be proficient in multiple stages of the Data Analytics lifecycle, from Data Governance and Management through to Data Visualization and Data Science and Model Deployment / Operationalization. They will be equally effective at the tactical level, rolling up sleeves and getting things done as a “player coach”, and at the strategic level, orchestrating cross-functional projects with Executive Leadership and demonstrating an impact-orientation that requires engaging beyond the narrow purview of Analytics. As such, an essential capability for this role is the ability to translate technical content into actionable and easily absorbed communications. An understanding of the higher education industry will be a plus, but passion for the industry and our student-centered mission will suffice to bridge any gaps

Main Responsibilities

  • Along with the SVP and existing Director of Data Analytics, lead and manage a pool of Analytics practitioners to deliver high-quality Data Management, Visualization, Predictive Models, and unlock impact through rigorous Deployment and Operationalization
  • Develop and execute the roadmap of projects across stages of the Data Analytics Lifecycle to ensure the team is addressing the short-term needs of cross-functional partners while laying the groundwork for medium- and long-term impact that operational teams have not yet envisaged
  • Drive projects from conceptualization and business case development through to in-market testing, refinement, scale-up, and impact evaluation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and ensure that Data Analytics projects are aligned with strategic goals and functional targets
  • Identify and build relationships with third-party resources as needed to amplify and accelerate AP’s Data Analytics capabilities
  • Build a thorough understanding of AP’s product offerings and key stakeholders (especially our University Partners and their Students) to be able to scope, pilot, and scale up relevant Analytics initiatives
  • Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt and change priorities as the business needs change
