About the Role
As a member of the Data Science team, you will explore new ML technologies and apply industry best practices with the latest ideas from academia to develop innovative and useful products. Our research areas include a variety of topics like semantic vector search, relevance tuning/assessment, recommender systems, NLU, and A/B testing.
You will be responsible for the research and development of end-to-end solutions for search-related problems, working closely with other engineering teams to put our algorithms into production and out into the world.
This is a fully remote position from within the United States.

Responsibilities:

    • Research and share applicable best practices and new discoveries in ML.
    • Assess ML models and recommend best models for a variety of use cases.
    • Develop advanced GenAI features such as Retrieval Augmented Search (RAG).
    • Help expand a highly automated model training, assessment, and deployment process including A/B testing (experiments).
    • Uphold the core values, policies, and  procedures of Lucidworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2-5 years professional experience in data science, data engineering, or a related field
    • Experience with LLMs including Semantic Vector Search, GenAI, prompt engineering, fine-tuning
    • Experience with common ML tools including deep-learning libraries like pytorch
    • Familiarity with MLOps (eg. Seldon, Ray, and Argo)
    • Ability to work in a remote team environment and collaborate effectively with others
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in related discipline preferred, but candidates with relevant skills and experience are encouraged to apply regardless of level of formal education.

$143,000 - $173,000 a year
This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Lucidworks’ total compensation package for employees.
