Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director of Data Architecture and Strategy to be located in Skillman, NJ. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.

Our Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain Technology organization  is hyper-focused on creating innovative solutions that meet our customer/consumer needs, and we are looking for a transformational leader to bring strategic, innovative, and visionary thinking to drive business advantage through enterprise data strategy. This leader needs to champion future-forward concepts, while defining the enterprise architecture that synthesizes experiences, data, workflows, applications, integrations, and back-end services.  This leader will be a key member of the Architectural Board, governing pattern changes in the end-to-end architecture. Balancing current needs across iterations of life-cycle management for key systems and platform services while building along a roadmap, reaching for a future of game changing technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or advance cross-functional enterprise-wide strategies, providing thought leadership and architectural services for all aspects of data and analytics across the company.
    This includes cloud services, data security and privacy, integration, data platforms, data services, advanced analytics, reporting, data visualizations, master data management, knowledge engineering, data acquisition, data hubs, data governance, and data quality management.
  • Contributes to strategic efforts that support integration into other ecosystems through data while building trust in end-to-end use of data for decision sciences.
  • Lead a team of data and analytics architects responsible for research, analysis, design, and delivery of data and solution architectures to support business strategies and functions.
  • Develop and promote modern architecture approaches that encourage data exchanges with customers to accelerate business connectivity and partner collaboration.
  • Explore, research and test leading-edge (new) industry and innovative technologies to increase competitive advantages through data.
  • Expand core offerings, with focus on emerging analytical approaches, skills and technologies to drive increased value from the data assets and quicken pace of business innovation.
  • Partner with internal teams regarding innovation, technologies, governance, lifecycle management (platforms), adoption and/or training/use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in information or IT management.
  • 5 or more years of dynamic leadership experience in leading multi-functional teams and large, matrixed organizations.
  • Expert knowledge in data and analytics, with experience in data services and reporting, data acquisition and integration, advanced analytics, data visualizations, master data management (per audience/persona), knowledge engineering, big data platforms, operational reporting, supply chain analytics, and/or manufacturing operations and forecasting algorithms.
  • Exceptional business and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work across business lines at senior levels to influence and affect change to achieve common goals.
  • Mentor, coach and upskill architectural team members and digital cohorts so that the technical acumen within the organization becomes industry-leading in the not-so-distant future.
  • Proven ability to describe and present business use cases (outcomes), data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches (options).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build high performing teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics concepts and methods
  • Experience leveraging cloud services from leading vendors to modernize technology ecosystems, improve data accessibility, velocity and security
  • Project management experience
