Job Description

Media Operations is responsible for managing NBCUniversal’s content supply chain, including ingest, QC, prep, and fulfillment to deliver content on behalf of the company’s Domestic and International properties ranging from film studios to broadcast networks and streaming platforms.

The Director, Insights & Analytics will be responsible for owning projects and initiatives that drive productivity within the 24/7 operations, enabling the teams they support to perform their work more efficiently, standardize KPIs while maintaining best in industry reliability standards.

This role combines media workflow, data analytics and business acumen and the ideal candidate will be able to use each of these areas of expertise to achieve success in multiple high-profile projects. This role will be responsible for leading a team of data and business analysts and using this team in support of the initiatives.


Key responsibilities:

  • Working across the 24/7 operations, understand voice of customer, operational requirements, and pain points.
  • Use business acumen to thoroughly understand the operations and provide guidance on improvements and new opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to use analytics to measure and improve operational performance, standardize the analytics across distribution, fulfillment and content creation.
  • Build models to size opportunities and evaluate project economics, in collaboration with constituents across the organization.
  • Define a roadmap for automation with Media Operations leadership, driving key future leaning projects such as cloud migration and implementation of ML/AI.
  • Project manage efficiency and productivity initiatives throughout Media Operations. Manage scope, schedule, and resources.
  • Manage vendor relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Manage governance processes and track operational OKRs and KPIs. Report and present to senior leadership on progress.
  • Monitor industry landscape to identify emerging areas of opportunity.
  • Perform ad hoc strategic analysis to support executive decision making.
  • Support the department’s operating rhythm for long-range planning (LRP) as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in media, ideally with a background in running operational teams and working with clients.
  • Strong proficiency in developing strategic analyses, financial models, executive presentations
  • Experience gathering & analyzing research, utilizing both internal and external industry sources
  • Background in television, film, or digital media distribution

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with project management and workflow systems and tools (Salesforce, Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office 365)
  • Experience with working in a data first environment with tools such as Tableau, SQL and Excel
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work well in groups or teams
