Job Description

Fandango is looking for a Director of Analytics, Movies. The Director of Analytics, Movies is an integral part of Fandango’s finance team and oversees the development of internal box office forecasts as well as an external facing forecast product for Fandango’s commercial partners. The ideal candidate will have a finance, data analytics, or consulting background, and has the ability to synthesize and communicate data into insights, and juggle multiple assignments in a quick and constantly changing environment. This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Finance and will work closely with the senior team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data driven quantitative and qualitative analytics on the entertainment industry and theatrical business
  • Collaborate with external industry partners, internal teams, and end-users to develop overall and title level box office forecasts and analytics, continuously measuring and optimizing models based on business needs
  • Work with Fandango 360 Data team to develop forecasting product for use by studio and exhibition partners
  • Partner with Rotten Tomatoes team to incorporate editorial content on the theatrical business and upcoming movie releases

Leadership and Culture

  • Bring a collaborative, hands-on approach to the work 
  • Promote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables

Develop open communication and productive work relationships with senior leadership, operations leads, and the broader finance and decision sciences teams

Qualifications

  • Direct experience in entertainment industry and theatrical marketplace analytics; existing relationships within studios and exhibition industry preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in modeling, developing, and implementing forecasting and optimization models 
  • A minimum of 2 years of project and cross-departmental management experience
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and ability to work through complex problems and create complex financial models and efficiently communicate results and insights
  • Advanced skills in Python, R, SQL, Transact SQL, SAS, and also in a reporting tool like Business Objects, Looker, etc.

This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a Non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
