The Team 

At Torch, the Science Team drives insight and awareness among the clients who experience Torch coaching, mentoring, and learning. This is primarily achieved by developing assessments that help clients understand their personality, motivations, values, goals, and abilities. The science team also helps aggregate data from these assessments so that our customers can more effectively design learning and development programs. 

Torch is looking for a Director of Behavioral Science focused on building our ecosystem of assessments and helping our customers design effective programs that maximize ROI. This role will be reporting to the Co-founder & COO.

Your Position

    • You will lead the development of assessments for consumers of our coaching, mentoring, and digital learning.
    • You will help design these assessments so that they produce valuable analytics for our customers.
    • You will consult with our customers to help them design high-impact development programs that demonstrate growth and ROI.
    • You will work cross-functionally with our Data & Analytics (D&A), Engineering, Product, and Design teams.
    • You will manage a growing team of PhDs with a passion for professional development.
    • You will work through each solution while guiding execution, measuring, and learning from each iteration.

Your Experience

    • You have significant professional experience developing personnel selection and personality assessments. 
    • You have an excellent analytical background with the demonstrated ability to translate data into engaging insights and outputs.
    • You have a solid background in quantitative research methods.
    • You have worked effectively with customers in the learning and development arena by helping them to leverage the power of scientifically robust tools
    • Bonus Skill: You have experience working with Item Response Theory (IRT).
    • Bonus Skill: You have experience developing Computer Adaptive Tests (CATs).
