We are looking for a Director of Product Management to join our Platform Product team. In this position, you’ll be leading multiple teams and helping to drive Product strategy and delivery across our data platform, helping to build more seamless, flexible, and scalable integrations between Instructure products as well as Institution and Partner systems. You’ll have responsibility for both internal tooling as well as external product skus, as well as maturing our Platform Product Management team.

What you will be doing:

    • Working closely with Engineering and Product leadership to help define the data platform strategy and direction, considering business objectives, technical needs, and overall market conditions.
    • Empowering a handful of individual-contributor product managers. This includes helping others grow as product managers—helping them develop and refine good judgment and decision making, helping them strengthen their skills for motivating teams, helping them understand business conditions and customer needs, helping them focus on the right things in a dynamic context.
    • Build trusting relationships with executives, faculty, students and staff at institutions, schools, and learning organizations we serve. They collaborate with leaders and colleagues at all levels, in all functions around Instructure to ensure that customer confidence is well-placed in Instructure.
    • Tend to operational and logistics activities as needed. These include hiring and onboarding product managers, coordinating formal learning and development opportunities, taking care of expense reports, orchestrating appropriate support for teams when product managers take time off, and similar manager-leader responsibilities.

Here's what you will need to know/have:

    • At least 10 years experience in Product Management with at least 3 years of managing Product Managers
    • Experience managing Product Managers, and demonstrated ability to grow successful, empowered product teams
    • Have demonstrated ability to bring new products or major initiatives to market
    • Experience with product integrations, data platforms, Edu data models/schemas
    • Demonstrated ability to grow the careers of team members, including coaching/mentorship around best practices in Product Management, software development, Product lifecycle & GTM, and leadership
