We are looking for a Learning Analytics Consultant to work with clients as part of our Learning Services team.  A Learning Analytics Consultant uses data and data tools to review learning and assessment data, assess product adoption, identify risks, design targeted strategies, help sustain Instructure product use, and teaches customers to use data effectively through our products.  This role will work primarily to provide consulting services for Impact by Instructure (formerly eesysoft) in the North America and APAC regions.

This role will partner closely with our Learning Services team to support external needs around data consulting, build collateral for data-related services, and deliver data-related services. This is a challenging role for someone who enjoys both strategic and tactical work, seeks to drive and optimize processes, and is passionate about data consulting. The ideal candidate will be very detail-oriented, data-driven, accurate and customer-focused who can pivot priorities based on changing business needs. They will be able to apply analytical and critical thinking skills quickly in high-pressure situations and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity. They will be able to handle multiple projects/requests simultaneously, prioritizing workloads to meet competing deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to provide clear and constant communication and escalate issues in a timely manner.

With an aim to lead positive, data-informed change and increase platform adoption, this role tailors both content and the data consulting approach to support institutions.  This position will focus specifically on working with key client stakeholders to effectively use Instructure products and data to meet the organization’s goals.  A successful Learning Analytics Consultant will provide exceptional customer service to maintain strong relationships, help the customer use data effectively, and increase and enhance Instructure product use across the organization.

What you will be doing:

    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to help them use data to inform decisions.
    • Act as a data-influenced agent of change within the organization to support the implementation of the institution vision and goals for Instructure products, particularly Impact by Instructure.
    • Use data effectively and follow an inquiry process to share your analysis of challenges, apply targeted strategies, and elevate the teaching and learning within Instructure products.
    • Mentor and motivate institution staff to use data effectively within Instructure products, and inspire educators to achieve unparalleled awesomeness with these products.
    • Listen to the needs of the institution and help to meet those needs with Instructure products, including building resources, model courses, and other key deliverables.
    • Deliver data-related consulting services in coordination with internal teams and contractors across regions.
    • Plan, schedule, and conduct consulting sessions using appropriate tools and organizational skills.  Help leaders make connections between data and best practices for education.
    • Follow-up after consulting sessions to monitor progress and promote success.
    • Collaborate with team members, Instructure employees, and customers to enhance product use across the organization.
    • Prepare, curate, and deliver amazing documents, incredible materials, and superstar presentations that are specific to the organization.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to tackle any task that supports the customer’s rollout of Instructure products, while also following internal procedures, Instructure security and privacy protocols, and institution policies.
    • Travel to support the rollout of Instructure products as need and appropriate.

Here is what you will need to know/have:

    • At least three years of Canvas experience required, more preferred
    • At least one year of experience with Canvas Data and familiarity with Impact (formerly Eesysoft)
    • Experience with learning analytics.
    • At least one year in an educational leadership position, more preferred.
    • Experience building strong relationships and rolling out technology platforms to an organization.
    • Experience building effective professional development for educators and current knowledge of technology adoption strategies, professional development protocols, and educational technology best practices.
    • At least three years of teaching experience, including experience with a digital learning environment and assessment tools.
    • Ability to consult on data-informed decision-making and related best practices
    • Professional presence and top notch verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Creative thinking, strong problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.
    • Ability to listen to complex challenges and come up with creative consulting solutions that utilize available data
    • Ability to create campaigns that gather critical data.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
    • Experience with delivering awe-inspiring presentations in an educational environment and the ability to keep consulting sessions fresh, fun, effective, and relevant.
    • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
    • Willingness to tackle any task that supports the customer’s rollout of Instructure products.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Technology, or equivalent.  Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Instructional Technology, or equivalent and coursework or certification in learning analytics or data analytics, preferred.
    • Willingness to travel to client sites is required.
    • Willingness to work later hours as needed to support clients in regions outside of North America is required.
