AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates adoption of medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our growing Data Team. Reporting to the CTO, you will be instrumental in growing the team, mentoring the engineers on your teams, guiding development and leading your teams’ roadmaps. You will join the engineering leadership team to help shape the culture, processes and tools across engineering.

The Team

The Data Team’s goal is to build the most comprehensive, accurate and useful data asset for Medical Device companies. Today, this data asset is the content that powers the platform leading MedTech companies use to make decisions, to run their businesses and to accelerate adoption of cutting-edge medical devices. The Data Team spans analytics engineering, data infrastructure and data discovery functions, and owns data modeling and orchestration, machine learning and business intelligence tooling.

The challenges include modeling & harmonizing the procedural data across the entire US using a combination of diverse & overlapping sources, designing an ingestion framework for customer data from CRM & ERP systems; automating quality checks for the end-user application; building systems and frameworks to deploy, scale, manage and monitor ML models and forecasting algorithms for procedure & sales volume at the individual doctor, procedure, and device levels in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Take a leadership role in our hiring, onboarding, professional development efforts
  • Accountable for customer value metrics that result from data engineering, analytics engineering, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Build and manage a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to enable their success.
  • Oversee the design, development and management of data infrastructure and tools across all key functions within the company.
  • Collaborate with Product to coordinate execution of the Data Team’s roadmap
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize processes, tools, and techniques to enhance productivity, efficiency, and scalability in a fast-paced startup environment.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience as a professional software engineer
  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills to effectively address data-related challenges.
  • Experience with modeling complicated data and delivering high-quality data assets and business intelligence tooling
  • Experience building effective operational processes, ensuring quick and on-time delivery of complex, customer-facing projects.

You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position.
