AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Data Team. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work on the core infrastructure and data assets that deliver differentiated insights to MedTech customers. You will work with other world-class engineers on complex projects that help bring cutting-edge technologies to patients.

The Team

The Data Team owns the data pipelines, machine learning, and orchestration tooling to help achieve AcuityMD’s goal to build the world-leading data asset for Medical Device companies. This data platform enables the Application team to quickly iterate and deliver a differentiated combination of data+workflow for MedTech specific use cases.

The challenges range from designing an ingestion framework for customer data from CRM & ERP systems, to automating quality analytics for the end-user application, and building systems and frameworks to deploy, scale, manage and monitor ML models and forecasting algorithms for procedure & sales volume at the individual doctor, procedure, and device levels in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage data infrastructure to enable, and give leverage to, analytics and machine learning engineers
  • Design and build our data ingestion & transformation infrastructure to scale to thousands of sources, including public & private healthcare data and customer data
  • Provide technical mentorship to other more junior engineers you work with
  • Help shape our engineering culture, tooling, processes and best practices as an early member of the team

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience as a professional software engineer
  • Experience designing and implementing data warehouses and ETL architecture in the cloud
  • Familiarity with modern data orchestration tooling, such as Airflow, dbt, or Temporal.io
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Beam
  • Experience with programming and scripting language (e.g. Python, SQL, Java/Scala)
  • You can recognize and advocate for technical excellence. You understand the discipline and craft of software development, you invest in learning and tooling, and you insist on technical excellence from yourself and your teammates.
  • You have strong communication skills, and you are able to communicate complex technical ideas to engineers and non-engineers
  • You are humble, collaborative and want to solve meaningful problems

You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position.
