Upstart is looking for an analytically minded individual with keen product intuitions to answer high-impact product and business questions through intelligent use of data. As Head of Product Analytics at Upstart, you will work closely with Product Managers and Data Scientists to improve end-to-end user engagement, from application flow, to underwriting and reporting for our personal loan product. The ideal candidate will be naturally curious and motivated to discover hidden truths to improve user experience.

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote,San Mateo, Columbus, Austin.(#LI-REMOTE)

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on both the West and East Coast time zones.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 3 days per Month at either the San Mateo or Columbus office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.


How you’ll make an impact:

  • Use data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our personal loan product.
  • Provide strategic influence with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Administer AB tests in the product, monitor results and generate product and business recommendations. 
  • Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support product launches.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products.
  • Build and scale product analytics team

 

What we are looking for:

  • 8 + years of product analytics experience with people leadership experience and interest in guiding and building an elite product analytics team
  • Detailed understanding of building good technical solutions with the ability to work with product managers, engineers and data scientists into troubleshooting and solving problems
  • Ability to break large projects into smaller pieces to meet deadlines and ability to convert ideas into testable hypotheses and/or next steps
  • Effectively use analytics tools such as Heap/Looker to diagnose web conversion rates and suggest improvements to drive key product metrics
  • Demonstrate business acumen and quantitative thought leadership 
  • Comfort with programming in Python and/or R
  • Strong sense of intellectual curiosity balanced with humility, drive and teamwork
  • Ability to operate at a speedy pace in research or implementation
  • Ability to leverage personal influence and connections to attract top talent
