The HR Data and Compensation Analyst will play a meaningful role in crafting and optimizing our HR programs and initiatives. This position will support building Sonatype’s compensation structure and analyzing HR data/metrics/statistics to make recommendations and insights on optimally executing and improving HR strategies.
This critical role requires experience in compensation strategy development as well as strong data analytics experience, with the ability to align these strategies with our overall goals and objectives.

Data Analytics Responsibilities:

    • Work within the company’s reporting and data visualization / business insights tools to build reports and dashboards to in support of our business operations as well as ad-hoc reporting requests
    • Provide insights into key HR metrics, trends, and workforce analytics.
    • Analyze HR data to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven insights and recommendations for HR strategies and policies.
    • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to capture data and insights for strategic workforce planning.
    • Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
    • Support reporting activities for the Corporate Board
    • Support ad hoc projects

Compensation Responsibilities:

    • Support the creation of global compensation plans and plan documents
    • Provide salary survey data analysis and prepare market data reports and summaries as requested from business partners
    • Prepares materials, participates in, and completes follow-up for consultative sessions with business leaders in collaboration with HR team
    • Complete annual salary surveys
    • Conduct compensation analysis (i.e. job leveling/evaluation/matching)
    • Review and advise on backfill, promotion and salary increase requests
    • Review and supervise employee pay and recommend reviews if necessary
    • Works with HR Business Partners and HR Leadership to analyze and resolve Compensation issues

What You'll Bring:

    • 5+ years in a human resources role
    • 3+ years of HR data analytics and compensation related work experience required
    • Proficiency in business insights tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc with strong background in Google Suite and/or Excel
    • Experience using compensation tools such as Mercer/Comptryx as well as HRIS systems as well as experience with ADP 
    • Experience with benchmarking, compensation cycles, job codes and classifications
    • Ability to analyze data for pattern and provide insights
    • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work at all levels in the Company and be confident, eloquent, and able to challenge leaders with detailed analysis and innovative solutions.
    • Ability to work optimally in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
    • BS or BA degree preferred or equivalent experience
