Job Description:

Our Data, Analytics & AI team is growing rapidly and is looking to fill the role of lead data engineer. As the Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that support our business intelligence, advanced analytics and AI capabilities. You will be responsible for leading initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, software engineers and business users to ensure that our data systems are reliable, scalable and secure.

Preferred skills

  • Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing and ETL/ELT tools.
  • Experience with data lakes (AWS EMR, Lake Formation) is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Scala or Java.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Amazon Web Services.
  • Exposure to modern, cloud based data technologies such as Snowflake.
  • Snowflake Certification Preferred.
  • Experience with AI/Machine learning tools such as R-Studio, AWS Sagemaker or Dataiku is a significant advantage.

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in an IT or mathematics related discipline. Or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines and data storage systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to develop high-quality, efficient and maintainable data pipelines.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data infrastructure meets current and future business operational and analytics needs.
  • Develop and enforce data engineering best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to identify data opportunities and prioritize requirements.
  • Implement and maintain data security and privacy policies.
  • Evaluate and implement new data technologies and solutions to improve data pipeline efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data infrastructure solutions, processes and procedures.

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

Southern region: $ 95,200 - $142,800 annually    
-
Central region: $100,400 - $150,600 annually   
-
Northern region:$107,400 - $161,100 annually    
 
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $ 90,900 -$136,400 annually. 
  
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $107,400 - $161,100 annually.  
 
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is$100,400 - $150,600 annually.
