Vimeo is looking for a passionate Lead Data Scientist to join our team!
As a Lead Data Scientist on Vimeo’s Data & Analytics Team, you will be at the forefront of identifying key growth opportunities using data, insights and empirical methods. A Lead scientist is the analytics expert for our Digital business from acquisition to retention. You are able to think strategically and at the same time go down to the technical details. You partner with functional leaders to ask the right questions to unlock the best opportunities to make an impact on our product, business and customer experience.
In this role, you will work with the Digital Business (responsible for Self Serve Revenue), Marketing, Finance and Product to apply empirical methods to inform strategic decision making, opportunities to improve performance and measure impact and learnings from key decisions and changes. Your suite of deliverables include analyses that span experimentation (A/B testing, multivariate testing), causal inference, root cause analyses, dashboarding, presentations and compelling narratives to functional leaders and the Executive team. Most importantly, you will partner on a daily basis with company leaders to impact key metrics that matter most to Vimeo’s strategy and success.
What you’ll do:
- Be a trusted advisor to the Digital leads to understand how we are performing as a business.
- Proactively generate insights to inform key decision making and changes in our product, acquisition and retention strategies to improve KPIs
- Work with functional leaders to identify, design, implement, evaluate and drive decisions through experimentation from Pricing & Packaging to customer experience
- Interrogate and synthesize large amounts of data from across the organization
- Deliver effective presentations of insights and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders up to the Executive team
- Deliver actionable dashboards and analyses, iterating and prototyping to meet business needs, and identify ways to improve and streamline
- Identify more scalable and effective ways to deliver insights, make information more accessible across the organization, and make an impact on how we work and organizational performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional Data, Analytics, Digital, Marketing, Finance, Product and Engineering teams to prioritize work, define problem statements, access and interrogate data, build analytical models, explain data-gathering requirements, deliver analytics insights, and make recommendations
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise and act as an analytical point of contact for stakeholders for all digital data related matters
Skills and knowledge you should possess:
- 8+ years of experience as a data analyst / scientist - articulating questions, analyzing data, and using statical and numerical methods to generate insights and inferences
- Expertise with SQL and working in modern cloud data infrastructure
- Expertise with Python, R, or any other scripting language
- Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Amplitude)
- Ability to turn large amounts of ambiguous data into a concise, meaningful story
- Knowledge of concepts in quantitative user behavior analysis in a SaaS business - segmentation, trends, cohorts, churn, lifetime value
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce tangible results
- B.Sc./MSc in Engineering, Economics, Math, Statistics, Science/Data Systems Management or equivalent background
Targeted Base Salary Range: $162,000 to $226,000
The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
