As the VP of Data Analytics and Data Engineering, you will lead data end-to-end, transforming our data into actionable insights to accelerate growth for Vimeo and our customers.  This is a vital leadership role, with high visibility across Vimeo’s business.  

Reporting to the SVP of Strategy, Planning and Analytics, you’ll be setting the vision and owning the execution for Vimeo’s data organization.  In this role, you and your team will be directly driving business outcomes through the application of analytics.  Ideal candidates for this position will bring a balance of strong technical leadership with keen business acumen

What You’ll Do:

  • You will develop and grow a team of 40+ data analysts and data engineers across Vimeo’s Data/BI organization who will support and provide insights and direction to key business partners.
  • Shape and own a holistic vision for the use of data and analytics across the organization
  • Partner closely with executive leaders across the organization to leverage data for operational excellence and decision making
  • Create and maintain scalable data infrastructure to support our growing needs
  • Develop a strategy detailing the data enrichment opportunity across our marketing data (1P and 3P) inline with our data governance and ethics standards
  • Work closely with our commercial finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and ensure insights drive the financial planning cycles
  • Work with Operations and Engineering teams to put in place data governance, ensure data quality is maintained, and drive trust in the data ecosystem
  • Be a thought leader in the review and setting of critical metrics to track performance. You will support and work with cross-functional teams to build a global efficiency and effectiveness strategy and framework.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • Significant experience building and leading a high performing and collaborative data and analytics function
  • 5+ years experience managing cross functional teams, including the development of people leaders
  • 10+ years of industry experience in data science, analytics, Business Intelligence and/or data engineering.  
  • Experience across broad range of modern analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Hive, Hadoop, Spark, Python, R), as well as big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Cassandra, AWS,Snowflake)
  • Our stack includes DBT, Snowflake, and Looker.  Experience with these is preferred.
  • Consulting orientation with ability to influence and effectively lead cross-functional teams
  • Influencer with great interpersonal skills and proven ability to achieve alignment across a range of different views and interests
  • Excellent communicator able to convey complex information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to senior executives
  • Thought leader in analytics / data science who can define analytical agenda for projects, demonstrates ability to frame ambiguous business questions into analytical plans 
  • Knowledge of data mining, quantitative research, and data science techniques (e.g., decision trees, regressions, machine learning, string similarity, behavioral analytics, look-a-like models)
  • Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills with experience communicating effectively with diverse audiences - across business and technology partners, including senior leadership
  • Self-starter with out-of-the box problem solving skills and a drive to bring new ideas to life
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task and keep numerous projects on track
