As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, your role will be at the intersection of software engineering and machine learning, and may range from implementing novel research models to rapid-prototyping demos that show off applications of machine learning on production data, to actually implement and deploy models in production. You will work closely with data engineers, project managers, and analysts to develop experiments, prototype and deploy models to create innovative features, products and services. You will have the opportunity to take on real-world problems from Salesforce’s enterprise customers with the latest machine learning methods. You will work with both customers data to model churn, propensity, health, etc. and products data to enhance search & discovery and recommendation experience of our customers.

You have strong programming skills and a background in one or more of the following domains: deep learning, recommendation, natural language processing (NLP), time-series forecasting, machine learning, and data mining.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data architects, domain experts, data analysts and other teams to translate business requirements into KPIs and models.

• Enhance cross-functional collaboration by developing deep relationships with key partners across the company and coordinating with working teams.

• Develop solutions for real-world problems on churn/propensity prediction, and recommendation.

• Implement cleaning, transforming, and loading the data and extracting features to store in feature storage.

• Support the ML lifecycle management infrastructure (Sagemaker Studio). 

• Engineer reliable, scalable connections between source applications and data warehouse infrastructure.

• Participate in architecture and code reviews.

• Identify, document and promote best practices. 

• Enable a team culture of critical thinking, creativity, innovation, experimentation, diversity, and inclusivity that aligns with Salesforce core values and enriches the impact, careers, and learning opportunities across the Digital team.

• Help recruit, mentor, and retrain a world-class AI/ML team and participate in recruitment as we scale within MuleSoft.

• Constantly learn, have a clear pulse on innovation across machine learning, data science, AI fairness.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency with programming languages, Python a must

• 3+ years of experience with one or more ML and DL libraries (e.g., sklearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ..).

• Exposure to industry or academic research, particularly in NLP, deep learning and neural networks.

• Experience with machine learning platforms and distributed systems such as AWS sagemaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Azure ML Studio, Databricks, ... You build, test and deploy code to cloud infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with other AWS services (Redshift, S3, Lambda, EC2, etc). 

• Experience building custom integrations with SaaS applications using REST API is a plus.

• Strategic problem solver who simplifies problems to their core elements and finds creative solutions.

• Driven by the opportunity to create products, with a get-it-done mindset and a strong bias towards action.
