About the Role

Stitch Fix is seeking a Manager, People Analytics who brings a mix of subject matter expertise in data analysis, strategic thinking, and project management. This role will play an important part in driving strategic initiatives that sit across People & Culture (P&C) teams including Recruiting, Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Business Partners. The Manager, People Analytics will establish and mature capabilities to harness insights using people data and the actions informed by those insights to improve key metrics for the business. 

This role can either be based in our San Francisco HQ or remote (US) and will report directly to the Director, People Strategy & Operations. 

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Work closely with the Director, People Strategy & Operations to develop and implement a multi-year People Analytics strategy (including tools and capabilities) & roadmap that increases the use of data within P&C and with our business leaders to drive our organizational, cultural and business objectives
  • Oversee, enhance, and design various self-service reporting solutions and analytical tools that accessibly enable stakeholders across the company to be effective and self-sufficient in applying data to their roles 
  • Utilize advanced survey methodologies and sentiment analysis to gauge and improve employee engagement
  • Oversee management of reporting and analyses on key people metrics, identifying key trends behind people data in partnership with P&C leaders 
  • Deliver deep insights into various business-critical analytics projects (e.g., flight risk modeling, attrition scenario modeling)
  • Collaborate with key P&C team stakeholders to understand their challenges, frame opportunities, and design analytics or research solutions to address their needs 
  • Partner with the source system owners and relevant IT, legal, and business leaders to develop and implement data governance across our systems

We’re excited about you because…

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a field that emphasizes analyzing, displaying, or reporting on data (e.g., Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Organizational Psychology), MBA/MA/MS preferred
  • 4+ years business experience in HR analytics, data analytics and visualization, business intelligence, or management, strategy or analytical consulting
  • 2+ years of proven ability to use data, analytics, and business knowledge to solve complex business problems building self-service dashboards with Business Intelligence tools or using quantitative and qualitative analytical strategies to generate insights, answer questions, and inform solutions
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective presentation skills and comfort with both executive-ready summaries and presentations (Google Slides, Microsoft Powerpoint, etc)
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and hands on experience with one or more BI platforms / visualization tools desired
  • Experience managing and analyzing data using tools such as SQL, R, or Python and experience troubleshooting others' analyses and code a plus
  • Experience with basic inferential statistics and research methods
  • Experience building and debugging data pipelines
  • You have experience presenting to and working with senior leadership. Experience partnering with leadership to build analytics for a company’s Board is highly desired
  • You translate ambiguous questions into structured hypotheses, identifying key drivers and creating compelling narratives and insights
  • You show curiosity about people and love learning from different backgrounds, working styles, and perspectives and adapting your own approach to be successful
  • You question the status quo and others’ “playbooks,” as you look for opportunities to innovate and break convention where you think we can do better
  • Above all else, you are bright, kind and motivated by challenge
