How you will help
Platform Architects are Lean-Agile leaders who work across the organization, partnering with development teams, enterprise and system architects, product management, and leadership to help drive architectural alignment in support of Healthverity’s data mission. They are focused on both near-term support on tactical challenges, and evaluations in support of building an architectural runway for the modern data stack roadmap.

This critical role demands a proven data and technologist  with progressive experience in the healthcare industry. As an agent of change and a partner across the enterprise  you will drive best-in-class modern data stack build out to ensure  HealthVerity’s accelerated and long-term success. 

What you will do
• Architect and execute development of a highly scalable modern data stack on AWS that enables collection, storage, modeling and analysis of massive data sets from numerous channels with an emphasis on proper security and data governance best practices
• Provide expertise on the overall data eco-system’s engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions
• Leading the target state of technology, architecture and roadmapping for the next generation of HealthVerity data tools
• Identify explicit/implicit technical assumptions and devise corresponding experimentation to validate the key resiliency assumptions
• Act as a liaison with other architects (security, infrastructure, data, engineering) and with delivery teams working primarily within an Agile (Scrum) methodology
• Communicates complicated technical concepts effectively to a broad group of stakeholders
• Work with engineering teams across the technology organization, deliver the strategy through clear leadership/direction, influence and integration with agile development processes
• Research and provide recommendations on automating administration tasks and contribute to the evolving systems architecture to meet changing requirements for scaling, reliability, performance and manageability
• Participate in technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of chosen architectures

About you
• Knowledge and hands-on expertise in the following technologies: RDBMS, NoSQL, Big Data technologies, distributed technologies, ETL tools, data modeling for transactional as well as reporting focuses. Technologies like: Kafka, Kenesis, Analytics Platforms, API Management and BI a plus
• Experience with security in cloud environments around HIPAA, PHI/PII data, data encryption at rest and in transit as well security concepts like tokens, federated security models and secrets management
• Experience in data modeling, profiling and database access pattern optimizations
• Must be passionate about technology transformations
• Current experience with Data Ops
• Hands on experience with the following technologies: python, PySpark, Databricks, SQL , scala


Desired skills and experience
• 15+ years of experience in software/platform engineering or data analytics  
• 10+ year healthcare experience 
• Solid experience with an understanding of data management, SaaS, Information Security, and integration of data platforms
• Architected and designed data lakes (we use AWS & Databricks!)
• Built data lakes to handle the three “V” of big data (volume, velocity & variety)
