About the Role:

Unite Us is hiring a Principal Reporting Analyst, Business Analytics with a knack for analyzing data, building trusted relationships with team members, managing projects, and driving action through data. The Principal Reporting Analyst role is an individual contributor role and builds on the skill set of a Senior Reporting Analyst. The Principal Reporting Analyst will be responsible for building data and analytic-driven solutions to support Unite Us customers, including healthcare payers and providers, government entities, and more. You will apply analytical rigor, critical thinking, and creativity to solve complex issues while working with multidisciplinary teams and customers. The Principal Reporting Analyst will be a subject matter expert in the Unite Us data model, BI tools, and analytics capabilities; and will be a standout peer leader, both on their own team and cross functionally. They are a knowledgeable and trusted resource in supporting both Unite Us customers and internal leadership. 

  What You’ll Do:

  • Independently lead development of data-driven analyses and actionable reports, with strong data storytelling, to translate business objectives into actionable insights for our larger/more complex customer contracts
  • Leverage Tableau dashboard visualizations to communicate analyses to customer; leading presentation of data & impact story directly to customer, as needed
  • Independently develop SQL queries from back-end database to support ad hoc reporting requests, drive innovative analyses, and feed new data stories
  • Enable the internal Sales and Customer Success teams in the learning and use of data analytics tools, supporting their data storytelling in day to day customer interactions
  • Takes initiative to address identified gaps in Business Analytics processes & support materials; collaborates with team members outside of direct team to improve practices and processes of larger scale
  • Serve as a key point of contact with product management and data engineering teams to drive enhancements to our data model, platform, and standard Insights dashboards
  • Supports ongoing learning and development of team, especially a department wide training initiative to increase utilization and fluency in SQL
  • Mentors Reporting Analysts and Senior Reporting Analysts by providing feedback, guidance, QA, and support on assigned deliverables

Education and Experience:

  • At least a four-year college degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years in a full-time role in healthcare-related analytics, reporting, software, and/or consulting
  • Ability to use a wide variety of data assets to solve complex problems with minimal supervision
  • Excellent data visualization skills with impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency leveraging SQL or another programming language to create scalable reporting solutions (required)
  • Professional experience with Tableau or other data visualization software (required)
  • Experience developing and presenting analyses and reports, with the ability to create polished slide decks and communicate effectively results of analyses to executive audiences
  • Experience with project management for both small and large scale projects
  • Ability to independently drive projects from ideation to completion

Environmental Job Requirements & Working Conditions: 


  • This position is remote, U.S. Based
  • The target pay range for this role is: $90,000-$102,000. This salary range represents our national target range for this role. Some geographic areas may have higher target ranges.
