Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a Product Manager, Platform & Data, who is excited to dive into a complex and highly rewarding problem space. We are looking for someone who is experienced in driving requirements for a cross-product digital platform team, and also comfortable unpacking a big data ecosystem with a keen eye for opportunities. The data and platform team acts as the connective tissue across multiple digital products, responsible for delivering foundational work that contributes to the overall success of the business through best-in-class backend & data infrastructure solutions. 
 
As the Product Manager, Platform & Data, you will drive the product strategy and roadmap that focuses on backend technology and infrastructure underpinning Fanatics Collectibles digital businesses such as eCommerce and Enterprise Selling. You will stay close to the business and adjacent technology teams to understand their needs and translate problems into an actionable roadmap for your balanced team. You will fill a critical role on the technology team, working closely with design and engineering colleagues, while supporting a variety of stakeholders, including members of the marketing, communications and business teams.  
 
A core part of this job is looking under the hood to become a student of our internal operations that drive the success of the organization. You will meet with colleagues who work up and down the process chain from order management to delivery fulfillment, identify where there are issues and opportunities, and then collaborate with engineering and UX to solve these problems across our digital portfolio. As part of this discovery process, it will be up to you to identify problems in areas of importance as defined by business and technology leadership while also influencing upwards.  
 
You will also be responsible for understanding how various data sources are generated, managed, and utilized across business operations while working with our Data Strategy team. This will support our efforts to uplevel our enterprise data infrastructure to a modern solution that powers analytics, reporting, and customer-facing features (machine learning, natural language processing, algorithmic merchandising etc.) 
 
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a matrixed environment. The Product Manager should have demonstrated experience with backend technology that may or may not have a digital front end. This person needs to be comfortable with navigating ambiguity and crystallizing requirements for the design and engineering teams that might be more technical in nature. Part of this role also involves communication of roadmap & strategy as well as managing stakeholders. 
 

Responsibilities:

    • Understand operations & processes that drive the core collectibles business and discover opportunities for IT to solve problems. 
    • Develop relationships with colleagues across collectibles digital portfolio. 
    • Audit various data sources and identify key pieces of information that need to flow to the data warehouse while working with data engineers. 
    • Work with business, design and engineering stakeholders to develop long term strategy, vision and priorities for FC’s digital platform & data roadmap 
    • Ensure engineering, design and product teams are working efficiently and delivering on a roadmap. 
    • Maintain a backlog of at least 2 weeks of groomed work. 
    • When reasonable, set and track KPIs to inform strategy and understand success. 
    • Contribute and help build a transparent, collaborative and dynamic team culture. 
    • Present a compelling data-backed narrative of the product strategy, laddering up to the overall product strategy. 
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for product work around platform & data, providing guidance to the leadership team into customer needs, business strategy, marketplace dynamics and competitors. 

Qualifications:

    • Have 2+ years product management experience in a technical product space. Experience with big data is also important. Understanding of the trading card space is a bonus.  
    • Execution: You have led Product at fast growing organizations which are able to execute consistently, delivering quality projects of the broadest scope and impact on time. You may also have had experience managing Engineering/Design agencies that were involved in a project you led. You are comfortable taking an ambiguous problem space, driving your own discovery, and identifying areas of opportunity for your roadmap. You work collaboratively with design and engineering to generate the best outcomes possible.
    • Technical: You are comfortable working with engineering leadership to prioritize broadly and you understand the technical complexities of data infrastructure and platform related work. You are comfortable sourcing big data and determining priorities within data engineering what pieces of information are critical for the data lake. 
    • Analytical: You have a good grasp of experiment design, statistical analysis and multivariate testing. You can use data to set OKRs, create dashboards to monitor product health, review analyses from across the company and develop basic models. You can construct a narrative for using data in order to drive the decision-making process. 
    • Organizational skills: You are able to manage relationships with stakeholders across the organization.  You have experience working closely with business & marketing partners. 
    • Communication: You’re a strong communicator, both written and orally. You enjoy working with complex concepts and distilling them down so that anyone can understand them. You’re comfortable working cross functionally with stakeholders and can manage competing needs to drive alignment and resolution.
$125,000 - $135,000 a year
The salary range for  this position is $125,000-$135,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
