Are you a Business Data Analyst / Commercial Analyst looking to enhance your career in the trillion dollar travel industry?

FindHotel believes that travel is the one thing that really opens minds to new ideas, cultures, and ways of thinking. Our mission is to get every traveller in the world the best accommodation deal. From adventure travel and backpacking to honeymoons and family vacations, we deeply care so that every traveller can make the best-informed accommodation choice at the absolute best conditions for every trip.

To further this goal we are looking for an Analyst to push our Commercial & Partnerships integration organisation to new levels. As an Analyst you will shape the direction and growth of our Commercial & Partnerships strategy and become the focal point for all data - related matters in the tribe, working closely closely with Partnerships Manager, Product Owners and external partners.

You will work across our commercial product, which is responsible for deciding which new partners to integrate, which partners to scale as well as working with our Partnerships Managers, who are responsible for maintaining relationships with our supply partners - negotiating better commercial terms. In addition, you will proactively follow up on changes in our supply deals, figure out opportunities and help leadership to define the long term supply strategy.

We're looking for a data expert who understands scalable and data driven products - someone with the business acumen and analytical skills to make sense of the mountain of data we have in order to accomplish our mission. This person will join the Marketplace Analytics team and would become a key player in making both the commercial product and the team fully data driven.

This is a great challenge for the Analyst who wants to join us in our quest to build the next generation accommodation booking platform!

What you will do

  • Become a key player in making the team fully data-driven by using data for measurement, ideation, decision-making and prioritisation;
  • Follow-up on performance (requests, conversion, commission and cancellation rates) of each supply partner. Proactively monitor changes in KPIs happening with our supply partners;
  • Build an analytics framework and support business development with analysis, cases and scenarios for negotiations and prioritising integration of new supply partners;
  • Own and manage our progress towards the commission tiers with supply partners and work closely with marketing and product teams to meet tier goals;
  • Actively communicate with partners to understand, document and align the booking, commission and cancellation reporting.
  • Be proactive about analysing the strengths, weaknesses and trends of FindHotel's inventory and advise our leadership and commercial organisation on defining the right supply strategy.

What a day in the office might look like:

You start the day by checking up on the commercial dashboards and A/B tests to see if anything requires attention. If required, you join the team’s stand up to communicate any urgent matters. Then, you spend time looking at communication about key questions with Partnership Managers or partners regarding KPIs and data. Based on this, you reprioritise your tasks list and finalise the communication with the commercial stakeholder. You then shift to your core projects on partner integration prioritisation, analytics frameworks for the commercial organisation, or figuring out trends and changes in our supply. In the midst of all of this, you also dedicate 20-30% of your time to answering questions from stakeholders, attending weekly meetings, brainstorming on a possible business problem or fixing any data or KPIs issues that was identified.

The team: Commercial & Partnerships Managers, Product Owner, Backend Engineers and Analysts. Depending on the projects you are working on, you might keep working closely with the various squads within the Marketplace Tribe. You will report to the Analytics Lead of the tribe.

Who you are

  • You have 4-8 years of hands-on experience using data to drive product and business decisions;
  • You have experience working with travel supply or have demonstrated understanding and delivering in a new domain in the past;
  • You have the analytical skills to be able to dive deep into the data to guide strategy or prioritisation decisions;
  • You are an excellent communicator and are experienced in managing relationships, both external and internal;
  • You are either based in Europe (to work remotely) or are willing to relocate to Amsterdam to work at our HQ;
