The Team

The Talent Acquisition Analytics and Insights team at Upstart creates the strategic infrastructure, systems, tools and more to enable our recruiting organization to do their best work in bringing the very best talent to Upstart. Our team drives actions and initiatives that enable the continued growth and efficiency of our hiring efforts.

As the Senior Analyst, Talent Acquisition at Upstart, you will develop practical recommendations using qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategic decisions for People Operations (HR) in a fast-moving environment. You will act as a strategic partner to teams to enable the Talent Acquisition org to deliver against our hiring plans.

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 3 days per Quarter at the San Mateo office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Monitor key success metrics for Recruiting. Create and implement reporting frameworks and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of our hiring strategy and processes
  • Monitor HRIS platforms, providing insights and recommendations on areas such as optimization, ROI, implementation, and or/configuration
  • Analyze recruiting activities to understand opportunities from within the recruiting funnel, and partner with recruiting teams to improve how the team finds, engages, and recruits for talent
  • Continuously analyze processes and metrics to drive team scale and optimization; build out scalable reports and dashboards to measure and forecast hiring progress
  • Partner on strategic planning for the Recruiting team, such as informing OKRs, Annual Planning, QBRs, etc
  • Analyze US industry, workforce, labor market, and talent trends to provide insights into areas of opportunity for recruiting teams

What we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Experience with workforce staffing/productivity modeling for a 500+ workforce
    • 3+ years of experience working in a recruiting or HR environment, driving improvements by using quantitative and qualitative analytical strategies
    • 5+ years of experience with data analysis and data visualization
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience using SQL, Python, or LookML
    • Expertise in Looker, Tableau, or other similar business analytics platforms
    • Experience with HRIS and recruiting tools such as Greenhouse, Workday, Gem, LinkedIn Talent Insights, employer branding sites, etc.
    • Experience with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or other similar spreadsheet software
    • Experience advising database design components pulling from multiple data sources
    • Ability to influence without authority, think proactively, and function independently
    • Ability to develop practical recommendations based on data and research to inform strategic decisions in a fast-moving environment
