Mission Lane is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our geographically diverse team. We have offices in Richmond, VA and San Francisco, CA, but are open to considering remote candidates.

 

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

At Mission Lane, our analysts work on business problems that touch all facets of the business and have the opportunity to work on different teams within the organization as their careers develop.  Your first role would be on the credit and revenue strategy team. This team is responsible for driving product strategy, managing overall lending profitability, all while staying true to our mission. You will be expected to use data driven analytics to optimize how we acquire, manage, and value customers.

 

As a Business Analyst, you will:

  • Drive immediate ROI:
    • Take the lead in initiatives like expanding our products onto new channels, improving targeting & underwriting, building world-class customer experience and identifying & cutting off fraudsters
    • Optimize current acquisition and account management strategies in response to customer behavior and changing marketplace conditions
  • Enable long-term growth:
    • Push forward our testing agenda to build insights into consumer behavior and invest in future growth
    • Analyze customer data to develop our next generation of product, lending, fraud, and collections / recoveries strategies
  • Develop your own career:
    • Be a part of a well-funded fintech with a track record of achieving high growth goals
    • Work cross-functionally on initiatives with c-suite visibility alongside product, data science, and account management teams
    • Learn by doing – have the opportunity to rotate into analytical roles across the business (e.g. on Growth, Credit, Fraud and Collections & Recoveries)

 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Mission Lane is Looking for candidates who have:

  • Proven ability to problem solve end-to-end: from framing the question and forming a hypothesis, to analyzing the data, to communicating and debating the answer with other stakeholders
  • Familiarity with SQL, python, or other tools for data analysis
  • 2-5 years of experience in a highly analytical role
  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar quantitative field with record of strong academic performance

 

Bonus points for:

  • Experience doing analytical work with credit cards or other consumer lending products
  • Experience helping scale a business in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Expertise in SQL or Python
