Finance Analytics empowers data-driven decisions for FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) and the wider Finance Organization at 1Password. The team uncovers business insights, ensures data accuracy and builds reporting tools to monitor and drive growth.

As a member of Finance Analytics you will leverage your data skills and business acumen to define financial metrics, analyze business trends, create and maintain complex dashboards and communicate performance insights to diverse stakeholders. You will play a key role in building out the data analytics roadmap for FP&A and act as a trusted business partner with cross-functional teams like Marketing, Sales / GTM and Product.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

    • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; experience with programming languages such as Python or R not required but is an asset.
    • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Looker, PowerBI, Tableau or Alteryx.
    • Experience supporting or working as part of Finance / FP&A teams. Previous experience in SaaS or recurring revenue businesses preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Track record of managing open ended projects from inception to completion, with the ability to define scope and requirements, prioritize tasks and collaborate with varied stakeholders.
    • Proactive and results driven individual capable of seeking out solutions to ambiguous problems in a dynamic scaleup environment.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to think through business implications of different approaches to calculating key operating metrics.

What you can expect:

    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Sales / GTM, and Product, to define, develop, and track financial performance metrics and goals.
    • Proactively identify trends and anomalies within financial and customer data, providing actionable recommendations to optimize business outcomes.
    • Design and execute complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from internal data sources, transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
    • Define, calculate, and report on essential financial metrics, such as net dollar retention, customer churn and lifetime value and translate what this means from an operational perspective.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports to track financial metrics and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Work with Data Engineering & Analytics Engineering teams to help identify new data sources, validate accuracy of data after it is ingested and provide requirements and business context on new metrics built off of the data.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on our ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) - calculation methodology, what upstream dependencies exist that could cause inaccuracies, what edge cases / nuances exist.
United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $95,000 USD and $129,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package.
