Become part of the People Analytics team as our new Senior Data Analyst. We support the People team's mission to accelerate growth through hiring, inspiring and equipping every Relic to deliver business impact and customer value. Your projects will directly impact the full employee life-cycle at New Relic as we use data to understand and improve our hiring processes, retention, employee performance and engagement.

Collaborate with teams within the People function and across the business, where you will be a key contributor in enhancing our People Analytics platform and providing analytical insights to track our goals and find opportunities for improvement. What you'll do

  • Build reproducible and scalable solutions to empower the People team for critical hiring, retention, and engagement.
  • Design and build dashboards for the different teams within our People function (Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, DE&I, Talent & Organization Development, Social Impact) to help understand the people landscape.
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in sensitive data. Measure and report on important metrics from a people perspective.
  • Help shape our reporting templates and metric standards on people data. Ensure data integrity and security within our analytical systems and tools.
  • Improve and advise on data normalization between ATS and HCM systems (we use Avature and Workday).
  • Promote ideas for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve people programs and measurement in the future.

This role requires

  • 3+ years of data analysis experience, developing dashboards and communicating your important insights to different levels of management and non-technical audiences.
  • 3+ years of developing scalable reporting solutions/products that are intuitive to use.
  • Understanding of how to use statistical packages, preferably Python/R.
  • Solid experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar BI platform.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain “what it is,” “why it matters,” and “what should we do,” in terms of your data and analysis to a non-technical audience.
  • Track record of working independently, with strong time-management and organizational skills.

Bonus points if you have

  • Previous work experience in People/HR Analytics.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native databases, preferably Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud service
  • 3+ years of SQL experience for data extraction and analyses
