We are searching for a highly capable and experienced Senior Director of Data Science to lead our Analytics and Data Science team. Our preferred candidate will be a strong hands-on business and technical leader with a strong background in the areas of data analysis, programming and statistical modeling. As the Senior Director, you will play a critical role in helping our business make data-driven decisions, providing strategic leadership and demonstrating the power of data science to drive business performance, innovation, and growth.

What you'll do

  • Lead, inspire, and develop an impactful data science team through strong mentoring, coaching, and vision.
  • Partner with business collaborators to understand their challenges, and design strategies and scalable solutions to tackle these challenges using data.
  • Establish and implement end-to-end data science project goals and schedules.
  • Build and maintain machine learning models, forecasting tools and algorithms
  • Deliver practical insights to business leadership through complex data analysis.
  • Foster a culture of fast data driven experimentation and iterative learning.

This role requires

  • A master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • A proven experience of 12+ years in a data science role, with at least 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning models, data mining, and statistical theory.
  • Experience with data science programming languages such as Python, R
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with big data tools and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake etc.
  • Proven experience implementing and scaling data science capabilities in an organization.
  • Exceptional skills in problem-solving, project management, and team leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex statistical concepts to non-technical collaborators.

Bonus points if you have

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
