The Data Engineering team is growing fast, and starting to specialize. We’re looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to help take our data reporting and analytics to the next level. You’ll work with the Executive, Product, Marketing, Sales, Sales Engineering, Finance, and Customer Success teams every day – in short, your work will impact the whole company. You’ll be part of our first team dedicated to Data and have a critical role in shaping our data foundation.
We need an experienced Analytics Engineer to join the analytics specialization within Data Engineering. You will join the team that supports 1Password’s data stores, data flows, and experimentation infrastructure. On a typical day, you will work with analysts to understand how key metrics are derived, and help upgrade our experimentation infrastructure or research tooling that will help us reach our goals of getting the right data in the right place at the right time.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis and preparation, including considerable experience with very large data sets and semi-structured data.
- Expertise in database development and data model design.
- Extensive experience in SQL and using database platforms such as BigQuery, MySQL, Redshift, or Snowflake.
- Experience preparing datasets for consumption by BI/Dashboarding tools such as Looker (we use Looker), Tableau, PowerBI, or Mode.
- Expertise in authoring data transformation pipelines within DBT.
- Strong understanding and background in data analysis.
- Desire and experience mentoring other engineers.
- Ability to act as an authority (SME).
- Willingness and ability to lead projects.
- Experience working with partners.
What you might also have:
- Exploratory Data Analysis using Python or R.
- Exposure to A/B testing concepts.
- Model building for marketing & sales metrics.
What you can expect:
- Work with executives and internal analytics teams throughout the company to transform, prepare, and serve data for reporting and ad-hoc analysis needs.
- Be instrumental in developing our data governance practices.
- Use your strong foundation in statistics to condense large datasets into actionable insights.
- Maintain a high level of data and reporting quality through various testing methodologies (unit tests, integration tests, statistical tests).
