As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work with our CTO and DevOps team to help design and implement our data architecture using Google BigQuery.
What you'll do:
- You will be responsible for maintaining our existing managed ETL pipeline and improving our existing data warehouse solution to denormalize our data models
- You'll work closely with our product data analysts to determine appropriate data models for the company's requirements
- You'll Improve the performance of our data warehouse – Google BigQuery
Who you are:
- You have 5+ years experience in a big data centric environment and enjoy writing advanced SQL queries, optimizing data models, creating ETL orchestrations, denormalizing data, and have expertise in at least one programming language
- You have 2+ years documented experience working with Google Cloud in general and advanced knowledge of BigQuery
- You’re comfortable working with others, asking and answering questions from both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Employee satisfaction is important to you and the idea of improving the performance of our queries and overall architecture is exciting
- You’re detail oriented and like to ensure proper documentation and communication with appropriate teams

- Experience with Google Dataflow
- Understanding of BQ pricing and how what we do with the data impacts our cost
- Exposure to Looker and experience leveraging GCP to make Looker perform as efficiently as possible
- Experience with machine learning and/or statistical analysis
- Understanding of security best practices in GCP
- Python development expertise
