The Data Group at Brightcove designs, develops and operates big data services and tools to provide reporting and analytics for our customers. We do this on a massive scale, capturing billions of events a day from our video players across the globe. Our teams follow agile processes and are responsible for deploying to production whenever they’re ready to deliver value to our customers - often on a daily basis. We embrace a variety of current technologies and tools for developing, testing, deploying and monitoring our cloud-based offerings. We believe in empowered and self-organizing teams that can take a product from concept to delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop our internal analytics solution.
  • Provide operational support for internal analytics services.
  • Work in an agile environment with a global team of engineers to create products, services, and enhancements.
  • Develop clean, high-quality code and automated tests to verify its operation.
  • Bring a creative and innovative mindset to each project.
  • Help mentor more junior engineers.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 5+ years experience with Python.
  • Experience writing data analysis tools using Python.
  • Background in high-scale data processing.
  • Experience working with Big Data (NoSQL) databases, BigQuery, Airflow.
  • Experience with Advanced Data Structures.
  • Experience working with cloud-hosted services, such as AWS or GCP.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with business partners to understand and refine requirements.
  • Problem solver and ability to multitask in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Experience with video data or other video technology is a huge plus.
  • Development experience with other languages such as Java, Scala or R.
  • Experience working with container-based deployments, such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience with CI & automation/configuration management.
  • Passion about AI, including machine learning and computer vision.
