Brightcove is seeking a leader, trusted advisor, and analytics expert to build and lead the new Analytics, Insights, and Modeling organization. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, this individual will drive the engine of trust through data across all of Brightcove - delivering business insights that improve decision making across the company, and generate incremental business value and new opportunities through dissecting the data and analytics from Brightcove’s solutions, customer usage, and external data sources. This leader will be responsible for transforming those findings into rich actionable insights and high-value model design, creation, and deployment to support Brightcove’s internal teams and operations. This is a highly collaborative role that works with all functions and business units and partners closely with the Engineering, Product Management, and Product Marketing teams in developing new data driven operating models and ensuring that the necessary data pipelines support our "product" of outcomes and experiences in a B2B SaaS environment. The role encompasses customer and market intelligence, analytics, insights, AI/ML, dashboard development, and business intelligence (BI) to improve Brightcove’s overall effectiveness. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, build, motivate, and coach a team of data analysts, data engineers, and machine learning engineers to build and deliver analytics, insights, and models.
  • Conduct analytics, dashboard, model development, and execution to drive client retention, field management, product penetration, fraud prevention, and system performance
  • Identify and build new opportunities for cross-department data-focused collaboration, increased sharing across teams, and enhanced scalability of solutions across multiple partner groups
  • Drive strategy around implementing new data science methodologies and selection of new tools
  • Drive improvement in modeling infrastructure, framework, and process to standardize, automate, and scale up the model development and deployment
  • Understand and influence business goals and strategies by applying analytical and modeling techniques to drive results and effectively communicate model approach, status, and results
  • Build solid partnerships with wide range of internal business stakeholders including Product teams, Marketing, Corp Strategy, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Plan and coordinate internal testing and validation processes, ensuring validity, robustness, scalability, and effectiveness of emerging solutions 
  • Ability to motivate the team and go hands on when necessary - shifting between task and strategic oriented as needed

Qualifications/Experience 

  • Experience within the Media and/or Video industry highly desirable
  • 12+ years in data and analytics in a large cross functional organization
  • 5+ years of people management experience; ability to inspire and motivate teams to do their best work and bring their whole selves to work every day; mentoring and leading a diverse team with the ability to influence
  • Strong business acumen to translate data capabilities and next generation information management solutions into business outcomes that align to business objectives and support real-time decision making
  • Ability to collaborate with business leads, understand business strategy/processes, looks for innovative solutions to drive business solutions for internal business users and external customers
  • Works effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities that require strong project management and decision making skills
  • MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields preferred
  • Deep understanding of the full stack of modern data analytics, engineering, and modeling - including tools for batch and real time data collection, data storage, dashboarding, modeling, and deployment
  • Industry experience leading teams that build and deploy full stack data applications - including data collection, feature engineering, dashboarding, and modeling
  • Extensive hands on experience with building machine learning models using tools such as Python, NumPy, PyTorch, HuggingFace, Feast, BigQuery, and AirFlow
  • Extensive experience with development and deployment of services/products using the data stacks on top of AWS or GCP
  • Experience development and deployment of products using multiple languages and environments (Python, Go, Rust, Julia, Java, etc.)
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools and processes (CircleCI, Jenkins, TeamCity etc.)
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and performance tracking tools (CloudHealth, DataDog, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Targeted Base Salary Range: $235,000-$260,000

The base salary range listed above is across locations in the US. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to an applicant's experience, specialized skills, internal alignment and an applicant's work location.
